Based in Canterbury in the UK, English in Action provides short communicative English Language Courses in state and private schools and institutions worldwide. The aim of the courses is to build student confidence and motivation in using English, and to offer a cost-effective alternative to overseas study tours, complete with a British cultural experience. Schools are asked to provide classroom space for the duration of the course and we send qualified teachers, who are flown from the UK and accommodated locally. Courses are available at all levels, and from primary age to adult; they are usually one week in duration, with students being taught six lessons a day for five days. All courses and course materials are CEFR benchmarked and are designed and produced in house by the Company's Academic Department. The core of the courses consists of learner-centred English lessons delivered within a broad CLT methodology; there are also opportunities for project work and an end of course show or presentation to which parents are usually invited. All students are provided with workbooks, folders and pens and are issued with a certificate of attendance.
