Eaquals Conference 2025: Experiences and Takeaways

Reflections from the Eaquals Conference 2025

It has been almost two weeks since the Eaquals International Conference 2025 in Malta giving us time to reflect on what made this year’s gathering so impactful.

What stood out this year was the strong focus on emerging themes like AI in language education, as well as the quality and depth of the discussions. Whether in sessions or informal moments, the conversations were timely, practical, and reflective of the challenges educators are facing right now.

This year’s Eaquals Award recipients shared their reflections on the conference, offering honest insight into their experiences — in and out of the sessions

  • Elif Altali

“The conference was a truly memorable experience — and receiving the Teacher Award made it even more special. The sessions covered current topics in education in such an open, friendly environment, and the conversations during breaks were just as valuable. I also really appreciated the publisher stands, having new resources and of course, Malta itself was a beautiful bonus!”

  • Ozge Postert

This year’s focus on AI in language teaching was incredibly timely. What stood out was the practical nature of the sessions — there was a good balance between forward-thinking ideas and tools we can use in our classrooms. I’m grateful for the scholarship that allowed me to attend, and I left feeling both informed and inspired.”

  • Yesim Cekuc

Attending the conference gave me fresh insights into teaching methodologies, tech integration, and student engagement. The sessions on AI were especially useful, offering strategies I can take back to my classroom. It was also a great chance to connect with educators from around the world and share ideas.”

  • Kassandra Robertson

“Attending the 2025 Eaquals Conference in Malta was a really rewarding experience. The programme brought together a wide range of themes and perspectives, and chairing sessions gave me the chance to engage with topics outside my usual focus. I also appreciated the opportunity offered to presenters this year to receive feedback in advance — it really contributed to the quality of the sessions overall. Most of all, it was energising to meet educators from across the Eaquals network, including colleagues from Malta, and to hear about the inspiring work happening in so many different contexts.”

  • Koray Tunc

“This was a very well-organised event from start to finish. Management Day was a highlight for me — especially due to the fact that it offered concrete, practical takeaways. I also had the chance to present on digital leadership and AI in school management, and it was great to connect with professionals doing similar work globally. Many thanks to Eaquals for making this possible.”

Looking Ahead

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared feedback, and helped make this event a success. The honest conversations, shared ideas, and professional connections made during the conference are what drive our community forward.

We’ll take everything we learned in Malta — from the sessions and the social moments alike — and carry it with us as we plan for Berlin 2026. We hope to see you there.
